Anterior draw test


With the knee flexed to approximately 80° verification of complete relaxation of the hamstrings is achieved by hamstring palpation. With the foot stabilized and in neutral rotation a firm but gentle grip on the proximal tibia is achieved.


An anterior force is then applied to the proximal tibia stretching the ACL. A gentle to-and-fro motion is used to assess for increased translation compared to the normal contralateral knee.  Grade the motion based on the amount of anterior translation :-
